Background introduction:
Located in the center of Dangchang new town, the project is
sitting in the north of Culture Square. The base is facing to
the main street of the new town-Ganchuan Road in the north,
lying on mountain in the north with a river running through,
its east and west side are residential quarters. This project
is planned to be a business and traveling hotel area, covering
total area of 58,669 m2, building area of 23,259 m2, 0.84 cubage
rate, 39% virescence rate, 33% building density. The highest
building has four floors. The plan stick to the thought of city
master planning and particular planning, combined plot characteristics,
carefully considering the line of sight and integrating the
inner landscape and outer environment to forge a abundant and
multileveled landscape system.
Design ideas:
We think that the design should both embody the scene of Shaoxing
as a water village and respect the local architecture characteristics,
so we design on the points below:
Using the layout pattern of "bending on the road"to present
its mountain view.
Focus on the theme of water.
Using blocks to assemble architecture, these "blocks"are not
only the understanding on mountain but also on Dangchang folk
residence
Function areas:
1.The base is divided into two parts by a trunk road.
2.Hotel: setting halls, meeting rooms, dining rooms and entertainment
center along the trunk road in the city center. Gust rooms are
in the northwest corner. On one hand, these two parts are independently
while in the other hand, they are closely connected by horizontal
traffic lines.
3.Business city and its accessories: every part is a independent
one and not interfere into others
The value of architecture lies on endowing meaning to environment
and being identified with local characters. Shaoxing Hotel as
a comprehensive architecture, organize the space with different
functions and scales together to form a new environment cognition
icon. However, the whole architecture group is not abrupt. It
is harmonious to the environment in the scale, and continues
the inhered environment texture in its configuration. The architecture
group is free and open. New functions and venue provide new
activity room and establish basis for the forming of new section
value.
